Consultative Workshop on the Application Dossier for Kampot City’s Candidacy to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN)
On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, Her Excellency Pen Moni Makara, Secretary of State, representing Her Excellency Doctor Academician Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, presided over the opening ceremony of the Consultative Workshop on the Application Dossier for Kampot City’s Candidacy to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. The event was held under the high presidency of His Excellency Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism.
The workshop was attended by His Excellency Flavio Bonetti, representative of UNESCO to Cambodia, His Excellency Mao Thonin, Governor of Kampot Province, alongside representatives from line ministries, provincial departments, the private sector, and civil society organizations.
This consultative workshop was organized to review and refine the contents of Kampot City’s draft application dossier, ensuring its accuracy, clarity, and comprehensiveness in full alignment with the criteria of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. Additionally, the workshop provided a platform for all stakeholders to share perspectives, inputs, and recommendations to strengthen the quality of the dossier before its official upcoming submission to UNESCO.
