National Authority of Preah Vihear Co-organizes Educational Program on Biodiversity Conservation in Samdech Techo Hun Sen Natural Village
On the morning of August 27, 2026, the National Authority of Preah Vihear collaborated with the Ou Svay Dam Ecotourism Community and the Civil Society Alliance Forum to conduct a public awareness program on “Biodiversity Conservation and Protection.” Held in Samdech Techo Hun Sen Natural Village, Sra Em Commune, Choam Ksant District, Preah Vihear Province, the event was attended by 329 participants, including ecotourism members, teachers, and students. The initiative was carried out under the “Restoring Tourism Post-COVID-19 Crisis” project, funded by the Government of Japan through the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The program aimed to educate local students and community members on the value of biodiversity, potential threats, the consequences of ecosystem degradation, and protective measures. Featuring a presentation by Mr. Chheang Peysall, Director of the Department of Environment, Forestry, and Water of the National Authority of Preah Vihear, the event concluded with a commemorative tree-planting activity along the reservoir buffer zone of the Ou Svay Dam.
