Her Excellency Longdy Sannara Leads Meeting to Prepare Orientation Workshop on Khmer Sbai Usage in Traditional Customs and Weddings

Following authorization from Her Excellency Academician Minister, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, on the morning of September 2, 2026, Her Excellency Longdy Sannara, Secretary of State, chaired a consultative meeting at the Apsara Meeting Room of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts. The meeting was attended by senior experts and researchers from the General Department of Technical Cultural Affairs to discuss preparations for an orientation workshop on the Khmer sbai (traditional shawl) and its application in traditional customs and wedding ceremonies.

Targeting bridal service operators and related business owners, the workshop aims to raise awareness regarding the Khmer sbai and encourage its accurate use in accordance with traditional Cambodian customs, particularly during wedding ceremonies, to preserve, elevate, and promote Khmer cultural identity. The orientation workshop is scheduled to take place at the end of September 2026.
