Her Excellency Academician Minister Receives Ms. Her Insun, Deputy Chief of Mission of Embassy of Republic of Korea to Cambodia
On August 31, 2026, at the Ministry headquarters, Her Excellency Academician Minister Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, received Ms. Her Insun, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Cambodia, for a courtesy call and to discuss bilateral cooperation in the cultural sector.
During the meeting, Her Excellency Academician Minister expressed gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Korea and the ROK Embassy in Cambodia for their continuous support in preserving both tangible and intangible cultural heritage. She particularly highlighted Phase 2 of the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum Archives Conservation and Digitization Project, supported by KOICA and coordinated through UNESCO. This project contributed significantly to Cambodia’s successful inscription of “Sites of Memory of Cambodia: From Crime Sites to Reconciliation and Peace Centers” onto the UNESCO World Heritage List on July 11, 2025.
Furthermore, both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening and expanding future cooperation across various cultural domains.
