Ad Hoc Experts of ICC-Angkor/Sambor Prei Kuk Inspect Work Progress at Sambor Prei Kuk Archaeological Site Ahead of the 42nd Technical Session:

On Friday, June 5, 2026, the Ad Hoc experts of the International Coordinating Committee for the Safeguarding and Development of the Historic Site of Angkor and Sambor Prei Kuk (ICC-Angkor/Sambor Prei Kuk) inspected the progress of ongoing work at the Sambor Prei Kuk Archaeological Site across several key construction fields and locations, including:

  • Conservation and restoration project of Tower C7-2 within the Prasat To (Lion Temple) group
  • Conservation project of Towers N8 and N10 within the Prasat Sambor group
  • Conservation project of Tower S17-1 within the Prasat Yeay Poan group
  • Conservation project of Prasat Ta Mum (T1)
  • The designated site for the planned parking lot
  • The designated site for the new pedestrian walkway project

This inspection was conducted to study and evaluate the work in compliance with recommendations previously provided by the experts. During the inspection, the expert team listened to detailed presentations by specialists regarding technical work progress and challenges. They provided additional key recommendations and guidance to ensure that the conservation and restoration efforts achieve higher quality and strictly adhere to international technical standards.
