His Excellency Hei Virak Visits Mr. Im Channa, Former Director of the Mondulkiri Provincial Department of Culture and Fine Arts

On the afternoon of Friday, August 7, 2026, His Excellency Hei Virak, Head of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) Working Group for Culture and Fine Arts, and His Excellency Hei Dara, Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, representing Her Excellency Academician Minister Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, paid a visit to Mr. Im Channa, former Director of the Mondulkiri Provincial Department of Culture and Fine Arts, at his residence in Chambak Village, Spean Mean Chey Sangkat, Sen Monorom City, Mondulkiri Province.

On that occasion, His Excellency conveyed warm greetings from His Excellency Hun Mani, President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, and Her Excellency Academician Minister Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts.

Mr. Im Channa entered public service in the culture sector in 1982, starting as an officer at the Department of Propaganda, Culture, and Information. Through his dedication and hard work, he was successively promoted to Deputy Chief of Bureau, Chief of Bureau, Deputy Director, and ultimately Director of the Provincial Department of Culture and Fine Arts, before retiring in 2016.

Over the years, Mr. Im Channa actively contributed to the management, conservation, research, and documentation of cultural heritage. He has also passed on his knowledge to younger officials, youth, and tour guides regarding historical and archaeological values, while promoting both tangible and intangible cultural arts in the province. Notably, he played a key role in preserving the traditional dance of the Bunong ethnic minority and the sacred site of Phnom Doh Kramom.
