ICC-Preah Vihear ad hoc experts inspect conservation and development progress at Koh Ker and Preah Vihear temple sites.

On September 27, 2026, ad hoc experts from ICC-Preah Vihear inspected and evaluated the progress of conservation and development work at the Koh Ker temple site, providing recommendations to technical experts from the National Authority for Preah Vihear regarding conservation efforts at the Koh Ker site, including Prasat Khnar, Prasat Kok Krorng, Prasat Krachap, Prasat Balang Tboung, Prasat Krahorm within the main complex, and Prasat Pram, as well as the management of tourist visiting circuits.

Subsequently, on the morning of September 28, 2026, the delegation of ICC-Preah Vihear ad hoc experts continued their site visit to Preah Vihear Temple to review the progress of emergency restoration operations from Peoi Ta Di through Gopuras I to V, which suffered damage during armed conflict in 2025, alongside the installation of the water drainage system away from Preah Vihear Temple. On that occasion, the experts provided additional recommendations concerning high-risk locations already propped up by technical teams from the National Authority for Preah Vihear, as well as other vulnerable structures requiring continued conservation and structural support.
