Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts Reminds the Public and Artists to Preserve Cultural Traditions and Protect the Dignity of Women

The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts would like to remind and inform the general public, especially artists and professionals in the cultural and arts sector, of the necessity to join hands in preserving Khmer’s fine cultural traditions and custom, as well as protecting the dignity of women in our society.

Although a large portion of social media activity has demonstrated maturity aimed at providing information, dissemination, education, and knowledge sharing, while actively contributing to the protection of Khmer ancestral heritage—both tangible and intangible—we still observe that a number of social media users continue to cause serious negative impacts on social-cultural values and the dignity of Khmer women.

In this regard, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts reminds all social media users of existing guidelines intended to strengthen and guide appropriate behavior, emphasizing the crucial role of artists and cultural professionals in helping safeguard national culture and traditions, strengthening good social morality, and upholding the dignity of women.

Artists, cultural professionals, and the general public are urged to continue maintaining a high sense of responsibility when using social media by avoiding actions that adversely affect social values, cultural traditions, and the dignity of women, for the sake of the entire Khmer nation.
