Her Excellency Academician Minister Phoeurng Sackona Presides over the Opening of the Art Student Exhibition and Final Examination for the 2025–2026 Academic Year at the Secondary School of Fine Arts

On the afternoon of Thursday, August 13, 2026, the Secondary School of Fine Arts hosted the opening of the Art Student Exhibition and Final Examination under the presidency of Her Excellency Academician Minister Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts. The event was attended by leadership officials from the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, local authorities of all levels, school directors from Sen Sok district, parents and guardians, community members from Prek Ta Ten, management, civil servants, teachers, and over 400 students of the Secondary School of Fine Arts.

On that occasion, Her Excellency Academician Minister expressed her delight and warmly engaged with the management, civil servants, academic staff, and students of the Secondary School of Fine Arts who were prepared to take their final graduation examinations in their respective specialties. Representing the ministry’s leadership, Her Excellency sincerely commended the management, staff, and teachers for their joint dedication to guiding and instructing the students. She extended special praise to the candidate students from both the Secondary School of Fine Arts and the Siem Reap Regional Fine Arts School for achieving fruitful study results over many years, culminating in the creation of over 70 graduation artworks, diplomas, and artistic certificates.

To ensure even better outcomes for this year’s artistic examination, Her Excellency Academician Minister highlighted the following key points:

  1. Teachers should continue to serve as role models, second parents, guides, researchers, advisors, and creators. They must continuously develop their capacity technically, academically, pedagogically, and in IT and foreign language skills to bring new knowledge and methods to their students, transforming them into well-rounded global citizens and future successors.
  2. Students should remain diligent in their studies and research, actively engage in “good deeds” for the progress of their families, society, and the nation, and strictly stay away from drugs out of love for themselves, their parents, and their country.
  3. Parents and Guardians are urged to continue providing support, encouragement, and supplementary guidance to their children through all possible means.
  4. Local Authorities, Communities, and School Management must increase their active support for school development, including physical infrastructure and ensuring health safety, hygiene education, and disease prevention within educational institutions.

Addressing the student candidates, Her Excellency Academician Minister shared: “August 13, 2026, marks the opening of a new chapter in your educational journey graduating from one level and transitioning to another, particularly into universities or higher education institutions according to your goals.” She emphasized that education is a lifelong process of acquiring knowledge, talent, skills, character, and conduct necessary for societal, professional, and family life. Higher education directly contributes to a better quality of life and future professional success.

Her Excellency also commended the parents’ decisions and the students’ passion for choosing the Secondary School of Fine Arts as their training ground. The school not only offers general education comparable to primary and secondary curricula but also provides specialized training in traditional and modern music, circus arts, classical and folk dance, Lakhaon Khaol, Lakhaon Bassac, Yike, spoken theater, and fine arts. Graduates can immediately pursue careers in the arts or transition to non-artistic higher education fields, and she encouraged all students to make the most of these opportunities for a bright future.
