His Excellency Ek Buntha, high representative of Her Excellency Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, attends the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between Cambodia’s Legend Cinema and Malaysia’s Crimson Omega Sdn. Bhd. regarding the establishment of Legend Cinema in Penang, Malaysia.

On September 25, 2026, at Legend Cinema, Olympia Mall branch, His Excellency Ek Buntha, Under Secretary of State and high representative of Her Excellency Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, together with His Excellency Dr. Shaharuddin Onn, Ambassador of Malaysia to Cambodia, attended the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Cambodia’s Legend Cinema and Malaysia’s Crimson Omega Sdn. Bhd. regarding the establishment of Legend Cinema in Penang, Malaysia. Attending as witnesses to the ceremony were His Excellency Kem Sokhon, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, His Excellency Kuch Panhasa, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism, alongside numerous national and international distinguished guests.

On behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, His Excellency Under Secretary of State stated that this Memorandum of Understanding represents not only a business partnership, but also a vital opportunity to strengthen cultural cooperation and creative industries between Cambodia and Malaysia. The Ministry consistently supports and encourages investment activities that contribute to the development of the film industry.
