Leaders of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and Leaders of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation Co-chaired a Discussion Meeting on the Arts and Culture Sector to Promote the Implementation of the Action Plan of the National Strategy on Informal Economic Development 2023-2028
On the morning of June 2, 2026, at the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, Her Excellency Academician Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, together with His Excellency Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, co-chaired a discussion meeting on the arts and culture sector to promote the implementation of the action plan of the National Strategy on Informal Economic Development 2023-2028. During this meeting, His Excellency the Minister stated that with the goal of successfully promoting the implementation of the National Strategic Plan on Informal Economic Development, and seeing that self-employed individuals in the arts and culture sector have an influence on social protection and the national economy, the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation requests the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts to provide support and help coordinate to encourage micro-business operators in the arts and culture sector, as well as self-employed individuals, to register in the informal economy system so that they can receive many benefits, such as accident insurance and discounts on certain services, among others.



In response, Her Excellency Academician Dr. Phoeurng Sackona expressed her full support for the action plan of the National Strategy on Informal Economic Development 2023-2028, which is a priority strategy of the Pentagonal Strategy policy of the Royal Government of the 7th Legislature. Her Excellency continued that the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts will coordinate with all organizations and various arts associations to publicize and mainstream awareness, especially regarding the benefits of this informal economy registration, aiming to mobilize micro-business operators in the arts and culture sector, as well as self-employed individuals, artists, producers, and authors, to participate in large numbers.
