Petition Supporting the Measures of the Royal Government of Cambodia in Resolving Maritime Claims Peacefully and in Accordance with International Law

We, the leadership and civil servants of all levels of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, wish to express our full support for the measures of the Royal Government of Cambodia in notifying the Thai party and the Secretary-General of the United Nations to initiate the compulsory conciliation mechanism under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), following the withdrawal of the Thai party from the 2001 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which had been the sole legal basis for bilateral negotiations to find a peaceful resolution on the overlapping maritime claims between the two countries for over 25 years.
