This exhibition aims to showcase and highlight the vibrancy of ancient Khmer art dating back over a thousand years. It stands as a testament to the achievements born from the close cooperation between Cambodia and China in promoting and disseminating Khmer culture and civilization to the Chinese public, who share deep historical ties with the Cambodian people spanning from antiquity to the present.
For this exhibition, 136 exquisite Khmer artifacts—ranging from the prehistoric period to the post-Angkor era—were meticulously selected from the collections of the National Museum of Cambodia to be displayed at the Shanxi Museum from June to October 2026. The exhibition has received overwhelming support from a large number of visitors and serves to inspire the Chinese public to visit Cambodia’s ancient temples in person.
