Her Excellency Academician Dr. Phoeurng Sackona Offers Rainy Season Candles and Offerings to Monks from 7 Monasteries in Svay Rieng Province
On Sunday, August 2, 2026, Her Excellency Academician Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts and Head of the Royal Government Working Group for Svay Rieng Province, alongside her delegation, offered Rainy Season (Vassa) candles and monastic offerings to Buddhist monks representing 7 monasteries from two communes—5 monasteries in Andoung Trabaek Commune and 2 monasteries in Krasang Commune.
The ceremony took place at Pou Oudom Pagoda (commonly known as Andoung Trabaek Pagoda), located in Andoung Trabaek Commune, Romeas Haek District, Svay Rieng Province. The event was attended by officials, members of the working group, the Chairman of the Romeas Haek District Council, commune and village chiefs, pagoda committees, lay elders, and numerous local devotees.
On that occasion, Her Excellency Academician delivered remarks and conveyed warm greetings from Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate; Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia; and Samdech Kittisangahapundit Men Sam An, Privy Councillor to His Majesty the King, to the venerable monks from all 7 monasteries and to all the citizens in attendance.
The offerings presented during the ceremony included Rainy Season candles, robes (Sāṭaka), rice, soft drinks, fruit juice, bottled water, tea, coffee, condensed milk, instant noodles, fish sauce, soy sauce, cooking oil, salt, sugar, MSG, garlic, and monetary donations (paccaya).
