Takeo Provincial Department of Culture and Fine Arts Collaborates with Samraong District Administration to Educate Vendors and Restore Order at Prasat Sen Phu Veang and Prasat Sen Tmol
Following observations of disorderly commercial activities surrounding Prasat Sen Phu Veang in Samraong District, Takeo Province, the Takeo Provincial Department of Culture and Fine Arts partnered with the Samraong District Administration on August 26, 2026, to conduct an educational outreach session and re-establish public order around Prasat Sen Phu Veang and Prasat Sen Tmol.
During the meeting, officials issued the following key directives to vendors and local authorities:
- Heritage Protection & Public Order: Educate all local vendors and relevant authorities on maintaining public order and safeguarding the values of national cultural heritage.
- Stall Removal: Require the dismantling and removal of commercial stalls set up directly in front of or in close proximity to the temple.
- Prohibition of Vending near Structure: Strictly ban vendors from operating near the main temple structures.
- Traffic & Parking Management: Direct commune and village authorities to cooperate with local police posts and village guards to organize public order, manage tourist traffic, and designate appropriate parking spaces, especially on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Vehicle Restrictions: Prohibit car and motorcycle parking around the temple grounds, with an immediate ban on parking along the southern side of the temple.
