His Excellency Hei Virak Represents Her Excellency Academician Minister Phoeurng Sackona in Visiting Former Directors of Culture and Fine Arts Departments in Pursat and Siem Reap

On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, His Excellency Hei Virak, Director of the Department of Cultural, Religious, and Historical Movement Promotion and President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) Working Group for Culture and Fine Arts, representing Her Excellency Academician Minister Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, paid courtesy visits to two former provincial department directors:

• Mr. Lach Phengly, former Director of the Pursat Provincial Department of Culture and Fine Arts, at his home in Peal Ngek 1 Village, Sangkat Phteah Prey, Pursat City, Pursat Province.

• Mrs. Sun Sovanny, former Director of the Siem Reap Provincial Department of Culture and Fine Arts, at her home in Wat Bo Village, Sangkat Sala Kamreuk, Siem Reap City, Siem Reap Province.

On that occasion, His Excellency conveyed warm greetings from His Excellency Hun Many, President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, and Her Excellency Academician Minister Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts.

Mr. Lach Phengly began his career in the cultural sector in 1992 as an administrative officer. He was promoted to Deputy Chief of Administration and Personnel in 1994, Chief of Administration and Personnel in 2003, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Culture and Fine Arts in 2007, and Director of the Department in 2013, prior to his retirement in 2025.

Mrs. Sun Sovanny entered public service in the cultural sector on March 25, 1983, and retired on February 26, 2017. She currently serves as a member of the Siem Reap Provincial Council.
