APSARA National Authority Organizes AWR Project Steering Committee Meeting
On August 5, 2026, the APSARA National Authority organized the annual meeting of the Steering Committee for the project titled “Angkor Water Resilience (AWR): Efficient and Sustainable Angkor Water Management for Climate and Socio-Economic Resilience” to review and evaluate the project’s work progress, which is a cooperation with New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT).
The meeting was held under the presidency of His Excellency Dr. Hang Peou, Director General of the APSARA National Authority, and Ms. Dana AVRAM, First Secretary and Head of Development Cooperation of the New Zealand Embassy.
At the same time, the project steering committee also conducted field inspections at various project sites, such as the exhibition hall at the Visitor and Interpretation Center, the master plan implementation at North Angkor Wat Temple, the restoration of irrigation infrastructure, tree planting along dikes/canals, and model farmers of the project in Leang Dai Commune, among others.
