On the morning of July 8, 2026, the National Authority for Preah Vihear (NAPV) held a meeting to summarize its work results for the first semester of 2026 and outline future directions for the remainder of the year. The meeting was presided over by H.E. Kong Puthikar, Director General of the NAPV, alongside Deputy Directors General, directors of the seven subordinate departments, civil servants, and staff, with over 100 participants in attendance.

During the session, the Deputy Directors General responsible for the Preah Vihear and Koh Ker Temple Sites presented the first semester’s achievements. Department representatives affirmed their commitment to ongoing plans and engaged in an active Q&A session aimed at addressing shortcomings and improving daily operations.

Taking the opportunity, H.E. The team documented the site using photogrammetry and 3D scanning, collected 34,156 scattered stone fragments (12,062 carved and 22,094 uncarved), and installed structural supports at 20 of the 22 affected locations.

After reviewing the reports and future directives, the Director General commended the leadership, civil servants, and staff at both heritage sites for their dedication and outstanding results. He extended special praise to the expert team for their urgent interventions to safeguard Preah Vihear Temple following the severe damage sustained during the 2025 armed conflict. H.E. Kong Puthikar urged all officials to maintain high levels of responsibility and dedication in their daily work to successfully and effectively achieve each department’s planned objectives.
