His Excellency Hab Touch, Permanent Secretary of State, Receives His Excellency Takahashi Fumiaki, President of the Japan-Cambodia Association
On September 10, 2026, His Excellency Hab Touch, Permanent Secretary of State and high representative of Her Excellency Academician Minister Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, received a courtesy visit from His Excellency Takahashi Fumiaki, President of the Japan-Cambodia Association and former Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, at the Ministry headquarters to pay a courtesy call and report on the progress of cultural cooperation between Cambodia and Japan, particularly in the film sector. Meanwhile, the Association is coordinating with the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia to explore the possibility of providing the Ministry with equipment to digitize old film reels for use in preserving and developing film archives.
On that occasion, His Excellency the Permanent Secretary of State expressed his gratitude to the Association for helping connect and coordinate with Japanese partners in promoting cultural cooperation between Cambodia and Japan. His Excellency requested the Japan-Cambodia Association to assist in attracting more Japanese filmmakers to film in Cambodia or co-produce films with Cambodian producers in order to promote the richness of Cambodia’s cultural heritage, elevate the film industry, and encourage Japanese tourists to visit Cambodia.
